One School, One Book

One School, One Book

Sadie A., school reporter

W.H.E.S has a new school book called A Boy Called BAT. A Boy Called BAT was published in 2017 by Elana K. Arnold. She has written 14 books since 2011. When W.H.E.S. get a new book, they  have an assembly about what the the book is called and what it is about. Then, the teachers get with their class and read a certain amount of pages each day until February 7th. Also parents get to come to the school and see what the kids craft about the book look like. The parents will see and will find out what the book is about.

This book is about a boy called Bixby Alexander Tam (BAT) his mom gets a skunk for a month from her job as a veterinarian, and he wants it to be his pet. BAT wants to keep the skunk because he loves animals. He also named the skunk Thor because his sister wanted him to be strong when he is bigger.

Do you like the book?  I interviewed the 6th grade and this is what they say. Most people said that they liked it a lot, but two people said it was just okay. Some kids that go with Mrs. Cera loved the book as a class, so they will be reading the next BAT book.
