Christmas in Woodbury Heights is an amazing time of year. We have many offerings both in town, and in our area. For example, we have our yearly town tree lighting and many houses with cool decorations. Other things in our area include a lot of wonderful offerings in surrounding towns and cities.

For our town tree lighting this year, we had Santa himself riding around town on a fire truck. However, this year for the first time Santa rode a sleigh around town. On December 7th, 2019, Santa went around the entire town, so many children kept an eye out for Santa. That night, the town had a ceremony and then we lit up the tree. We then went inside of the fire station and got the chance to meet Santa and take a picture with him. Children were able to pick a toy out of a box and enjoy some nice hot chocolate with cookies while listening to the wonderful music from the WHES chorus.

Another local event is at Creamy Acres in Mullica Hill. During the holidays they host hayrides which go through the farm with a bunch of Christmas lights and decorations. Adults are $15 per person, children are $10 per child, and seniors 65 and over are $12 per person. Sadly, there are no refunds. So, if you buy a ticket, you can’t get your money back if you don’t want the ticket.

A somewhat local offering is Franklin square in Philidelphia! They have offerings like s’mores and hot chocolate! They have fires and a light show called the Electrical Spectacle Light Show. These shows happen every half hour. You can find these offerings at Franklin square through the days of November 14th-December 31st, just not on Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Overall, all of these events could be a fun way to celebrate during the Christmas season, and a great experience for adults and kids!
