Have you ever seen someone riding their bike along the street? They could have been practicing for a race or getting exercise. You may have seen people riding different bikes at the beach than when racing or on the road. At the beach, people tend to use beach bikes. There’s also racing bikes for racing, time trial bikes for when you’re being timed for a race, folding bikes for easy storage, and BMX bikes mostly used by kids for tricks.

Certain bikes may also have something extra on their handles, called gears. These will help the bike go slower or faster. But, the problem with gears is that most people get confused by them or don’t understand how to use them. There are five gears on a bike. Most people would think that five is the hardest gear to pedal on and one is the easier one. But, those people are wrong. If you just got on the bike, Don’t start pedaling yet. If you have gears make sure they’re on five. Five is the gear you want to start on. Have you been pedaling for a few minutes and you’re still on five? Then, change your gears to four. Then to three, and so on. This will make your legs work more.

I saw someone on the train with a folding bike. It was the first I had seen that. Very interesting.
