The Philadelphia Eagles are going to the Super Bowl for only the third time ever. They went to the Super Bowl in 2004 against the New England Patriots, who they are playing against this Super Bowl. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl. They are going against Tom Brady, who is going to the Super Bowl the 8th time and won 5 times. The Eagles are going to the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback, Nick Foles.

The Eagles lost their starting quarterback, Carson Wentz in week 13 against the Rams. The Eagles have been the underdogs (which means everyone thinks they’re going to lose) ever since Wentz went down. This is a very rare thing to happen: a number one seed who are considered underdogs. The Eagles use this as their motivation. Nick Foles definitely stepped up for the Eagles in the Minnesota game. Nick Foles was the starting quarterback for the Eagles in the 2013 season and he led them to the playoffs. The Eagles scores of the playoffs games were, they won 15-10 against the Falcons, and 38-7 against the Vikings who are the number one defense in the league.

The Super Bowl is at U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is only in his second year coaching for the Eagles. He believes in Nick Foles the most. After the last game everyone should believe in him. This is basically history for any Philadelphia sports fan, because Philly teams are normally known to be not so good. According to the NFL.com Doug Pederson set the tone once Nick Foles formed into the quarterback he used to be. Nick Foles used to be a dominant quarterback. In 2013 his stats were, he passed for 2,891 yards, he played 13 games, completed 203 passes and attempted 317 passes, he threw 27 touchdown passes and threw 2 interceptions. He went to the Pro Bowl. The Eagles are going up against a very tough team, against Tom Brady. The Eagles are the number one seed in the NFC, and the Patriots are the number one seed in the AFC. This is a very rare occasion, to have number 1 against number 1.
