The second grade has been learning about contractions. Now, they are having a lesson about contractions. The lesson is how you make contractions, what letters to replace, and what you do. The stuff they used are:

  • Staples as stitches
  • Band aids as Apostrophes
  • Scissors as Medical Scissors
  • Gloves and Masks
  • Whiteboard as the Recovery room
  • Dry erase board erasers as a Defibrillator AED (a machine that provides a electric shock powerful enough to get the heart beating again)
  • Paper scraps as Leftover body parts
  • Hallway as Waiting room

Some examples of there contraction are

We are to We’re

Are not to aren’t

would not to wouldn’t

have not to haven’t

is not to isn’t

I will to I’ll

The 2nd Graders enjoyed the project and even got to try it themselves!

If the 2nd graders can enjoy it, anyone can!
