Woodbury Heights Elementary School is reading the book, The Candymakers for the One School, One Book program. Since Wendy Mass has written and published this book, the staff thought it would be reasonable to read the book. Five students have already finished the book. I have interviewed these five students for a book review. Let’s see what they have to say:

Q: At what part did you find most interesting or surprising?

Chase: I found the ending of the book very surprising.

Emmy: The ending was certainly surprising.

Rosa: The part I found most surprising was the end.

Sydnee: I concur. The end was interesting.

Tristan: I’d have to say, the beginning of the book caught my attention.

Q: How much did you like the book?

All: We all liked the book a lot!

Q: How long did it take to read the book?

Chase: It took a while to finish the book.

Emmy: It took a short amount of time to read. But only because I’m a fast reader.

Rosa: It took a good amount of time.

Sydnee: It took a good amount of time, but I finished early.

Tristan: It took a very long time to read. But I’m a slow reader, so…….

Q: Who was your favorite character in the movie?

Chase: I’d have to say that my favorite character was more than likely Miles.

Emmy: I loved Logan the best.

Rosa: Daisy was my favorite.

Sydnee: I’d have to say it was Daisy who I liked best.

Tristan: My favorite character is definitely Logan.

Q: What was your favorite part in the beginning/middle/end?

Chase: I liked the part when Daisy found out that her brother was coming home.

Emmy: I’d have to say the part when the Bacon Pops won on accident.

Rosa: I liked the part when Miles finally got over his fear of pink and rowboats. I was also relieved when I found out that Miles figured out that the girl in the clouds didn’t drown and was actually Daisy.

Sydnee: When they opened the can and saw themselves.

Tristan: Probably the part when they had chocolate pizza.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to say about the book?

Rosa: Bo Dinkelman was absolutely hilarious!

Tristan: I would like to try chocolate pizza sometime. It looks good.

So, that’s The Candymakers Review. I hope you like the book as much as these five did.
